Things are back to normal now with mandatory gladhanding —until the next “big bug.” ( I guess it was too much to expect Obama to do the “fist bump” at the G8 summit)!

Germs are easy to share but social customs are hard to change. I did notice that more people avoided handshakes during the SARS and Swine Flu scares. It will be interesting to see if the discomfort many feel with handshakes will see it decline. The handshake was in full display during the recent G8 summit in Italy.
