I agree with you about work being stimulating. I think people have forgotten that pensions and things were originally set up for about 10 years of retirement and now for some of us could be 40 years.
And with the better quality of health we enjoy for many more years we need activity and stimulation.

I think we have to consciously avoid the trap of ageism and keep our eye on the future. I have commented to those who cannot economically retire that it just might be a great blessing in disguise for them. Work is stimulating and helps us stay current!
