Grandmother Runs 27 Marathons In 27 Days
A triumphant grandmother has ran into the record books after completing 27 consecutive fund-raising marathons, reports Britain’s SkyNews.
Rosie Swale Pope MBE, 63, ran the final step in her gruelling 707 mile odyssey to rapturous cheering from a crowd of supporters.
Crossing the finish line in Tudor Square, in her home town of Tenby, in west Wales, she said she was “tired but very very happy”.
The fund-raising phenomenon had originally intended finishing in Llanelli, where she completed her 26th consecutive marathon.
But in an effort to thank a legion of supporters across the UK for their backing she ran an extra marathon by way of a traditional lap of honour.

THIS is the way Baby Boomers age. I love reading stuff like this! Pretty amazing feat at any age I think. I've run a few marathons … but 27 in 27 days is just unbelievable!
Certain people – like this woman – and their achievements just kinda stay with you, having life changing effect.
I ran my first 26 mile marathon when I was in my 30s & remember thinking, "Gee, I'm kinda old to just now be running my first marathon."
But, at mile 18 a much older man passed me like I was standing still. I later learned he was 72!!
I talked to him after the race and he said he'd run about a dozen or so marathons. I was so impressed that I decided to set a goal for myself: To run at least one marathon per each decade of my life.
So, in my 30s I ran the Honolulu Marathon; 40s L.A. Marathon; 50s Run Thru the Vines & San Diego Rock & Roll Marathons.
In my 60s I'd luv to do one in Europe.
When I hit my 70s, I'm hoping to pass a thirty-something runner at around mile 18 … God willing.
Keep your attitude Papa Baby Boomer,it's refreshing.
Wow! Baby Boomers keep redefining “age.”
Now think back for just a moment…Could you see your mother or grandmother running 1 mile let alone 27 marathons in 27 days!
Mike, thanks for sharing…
