Art Linkletter

Art Linkletter was as much a part of any Baby Boomer’s growing up years as, well, the rabbit ears on top of the TV set and Daniel Boone coonskin caps.

Linkletter started on radio, and he had staying power, that is for sure, for the transition into TV. His Art Linkletter’s House Party lasted 25 years on TV and radio. His People Are Funny show ran for 19 years on radio and TV. He wrote more than 30 books. His marriage, to Lois, lasted longer than any other celebrity marriage … 75 years!

Art Linkletter died in 2010 at the age of 97. And, he is perhaps best remembered by many baby boomers for the TV show segment, Kids Say the Darndest Things. Here’s a sampling.
