I agree with Mr. Dobbs. I lived in Tehran from 1961-1965, my father worked for U.S. Information Service. Even though I was a teenager in high school, I got to know a lot of Iranians from many walks of life. I found them to be gracious and warm people.

I must admit I was rather naive about the political situation at the time. I was told the Shah was our ally and best thing for the country. Of course my information came from the U.S. Diplomatic Mission. I have since learned that was not true.

I wish the best for Iran. It will always hold a warm place in my memories.

Yes, not everyone in the world wants what we want, or live the way we do. To believe that is self rightous and hypocritical. Iranians and other Middle Eastern countries will have to duke it out by themselves. We must be quietly supportive from the sidelines.

Iran has ben around a lot longer than we have and they have experienced many upheavals over the last 4 to 5 millenia. So this is one more to overcome and learn from.

Will Hussein stand for ANYTHING definitive on the behalf of America and Americans, or can we all continue to expect more of the same?

HOPE and CHANGE = Vagueness and Ambiguity each and every day!
