Work is New Retirement for Baby Boomers

According to a lecturer at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana, many baby boomers may invent new opportunities for themselves rather than choosing retirement.

The old perceptions that retirees are too old to work, shouldn’t get too excited, and should be content to stay in rocking chairs on their front porches don’t apply to baby boomers, according to Marc Freedman, the speaker during the recent 55th annual Kirkpatrick Lecture.
