I have read about the dangers of HFCS before. Now that I have learned how it is actually processed in our bodies, I'm realizing it's truly a poison.

For the last couple of weeks, my wife and I have been vacationing in Europe where corn syrup and American-style processed foods are banned. And, guess what -- the food here tastes better. Heck, we even bought a bag of M&M's that were made in Germany without corn syrup, and they were yummy!

It is not our imagination -- food tasted better when we boomers were kids because it was just pure food and not enhanced with toxic chemicals as we have today.

Thanks for your comments!

David,
I've never heard anyone say Cokes tasted better back then. I always thought that and most everything else tasted better and wondered why (even fresh fruit bought at farm stands in NJ then vs. now were much tastier) Thanks for explaining about the corn syrup phenomenon. I remember all those things too, except car hops. By the way, we all ate "real," full fat foods back then, no diet soda or fat free this or that, and we were all thin and healthy.I am so happy I discovered this website.
